Ângelo Paz is CEO of Angola LNG Marketing Ltd (ALM), a company based in London, responsible for the global marketing of LNG from the Angola LNG plant, along with managing the shipping fleet that transports the LNG cargoes and the sale of liquids from the project.

Ângelo has worked in the Oil and Gas sector for over 20 years, with significant international experience. He has held various positions in reservoir engineering in Sonangol EP (the Angolan state oil company) and more recently in business development in its gas subsidiary, Sonangol Gas Natural Limitada (“Sonagas”).

As part of his roles at Sonangol, Ângelo has been involved in the development process for many of the offshore oil Blocks that now supply associated gas to Angola LNG, working closely with foreign partners all over the world.

 Since 2015, as Manager of Business Development in Sonagas he was a part of the process leading to the creation of the New Gas Consortium that will develop non-associated gas for supply to Angola LNG. Before taking up his current position in ALM, he was responsible for leading the evaluation and negotiation of gas business opportunities for Sonagas.

 Ângelo has a degree in Mining Engineering from the Agostinho Neto University, post-graduated in Petroleum Reservoir by the Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon/Portugal), is certified by OCGI Petroskills (Houston/USA) in Petroleum Engineering and by IHRDC (Boston/USA) in International Gas Business Management.

Gordon Murray, General Manager, Sociedade Operacional Angola LNG S.A

Gordon Murray is General Manager of Angola LNG Operating Company S.A. In this position, Gordon oversees the Angola LNG plant, based in Soyo, Angola, ensuring overall safe and reliable operations.

Gordon has broad experience in operations, business, finance, engineering, technology applications, supply chain (with local content), security, and human resources. His management experience includes Operations General Management, Big Gas, Asset Retirement, Partner and Community Relations, Drilling and Completions Technology Management.

At Chevron, Gordon served as Director of Operations  in Bangladesh, where he previously held key senior roles, including Country Manager delegation, Transition Manager for a 2$Billion Bangladesh portfolio divestment and Bangladesh Bibiyana Gas Expansion Major Capital Project:  incident free gas & liquid start up 2014. During this period, he managed over 1500 employees and contractors, 4 years of incident-free experience with exceptional 99.8% uptime and reliability.

Gordon previously worked in Angola with Chevron’s affiliate Cabinda Gulf oil Company (CABGOC), assigned on Block 0 & 14 complex infrastructure portfolios.

Gordon is very knowledgeable on Angola LNG gas supply and network, having also consolidated his experience in government and partner relationships with over 28 years of involvement with IOC partnerships.

Gordon has a Bachelor Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.

 

Amadeu de Azevedo, Executive Manager, Angola LNG Limited

Amadeu de Azevedo is the Executive Director of Angola LNG Limited, the company that owns the three other entities of Angola LNG on behalf of the shareholders.

Having worked in the oil & gas sector since 1982, Amadeu has held various positions in different areas of exploration and management, namely in the Angolan state oil company (Sonangol) and in the French company ELF, in Angola and France.

Before joining Angola LNG in 2019, he was Head of Licensing and Exploration and National Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Petroleum and later at the Ministry of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (2000-2019).

He also worked on the setup of the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) between 2018-2019, and was part of the committee which set up the Technical Structure of the Block 14 K / A-IMI (Field Lianzi - Angola/Congo) between 2002 and 2019. Prior to that he was Chairman of the Angolan Petroleum Committee (Organization of African Oil Producing Countries) (2001-2004), and President of the National Committee of Angola (World Congress) (2000-2019).

He has completed several training courses in Leadership, Project Management, Executive Management, Exploration Techniques, among others.

Amadeu has a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Agostinho Neto University and the National School of Petroleum and Motors (France), and an MA Sedimentology from the University of Bordeaux, France. 

Amilton Cunha, General Manager, Sociedade De Operações E Manutenção De Gasodutos S.A.

Amilton Cunha, is General Manager of SOMG - Sociedade de Operações e Manutenção de Gasodutos S.A., based in Luanda, Angola, managing the service company responsible for transporting natural gas via the offshore pipeline network to the Angola LNG-operated plant in Soyo.

Amilton has broad experience in upstream, real estate, asset management, project management, engineering, finance, logistics, security, transportation and human resources. His leadership experience includes Directorship, Chief Executive Officer, General and Operations Management.

In oil & gas, Amilton had a succession of leadership roles for ExxonMobil in Angola and in the USA. In the upstream operations he was responsible for the overall logistics for Block15 in Angola managing aviation, marine, yards, offices, warehouse, transportation and housing for onshore and offshore operations. 

Amilton served as General Manager for the EagleHills / Emaar real estate investment fund in Angola.

Most recently, prior to joining SOMG in 2020, Amilton was CEO of Sonangol Imobiliária e Propriedades Limitada (SONIP), where he managed the subsidiary responsible for a global real estate portfolio up to $2.4Billion dollar’s value and the new urban centralities built in Angola up to $4Billion dollar’s value.

In his career, Amilton had the opportunity to manage large scale portfolios with over 1000 employees and contractors, with several million-man hours without incidents.

Amilton graduated in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia, Porto, Portugal and has since completed leadership executive trainings at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and at the University of Arizona Thunderbird School of Global Management.
